First, schedule a consultation with Dr. Zoya Galant. Dr. Galant will take all of the records needed for evaluation and discuss the functional and clinical benefits you could expect from treatment.

You’ll learn how CandidPro treatment works and get answers to all of your questions, including any payment options offered by the practice.

STEP 2

Treatment plan

Second, Dr. Zoya Galant will work with one of CandidPro’s US-based licensed orthodontists to design a treatment plan tailored to address the needs of your specific case.

Your aligners, delivered

We’ll produce your custom aligners and ship them to you or your doctor. They’ll come with everything you need to do remote treatment check-ins with Dr. Zoya Galant.

You’ll wear your aligners every day as prescribed and watch your smile transform.

What are clear aligners and how do they work?

Clear aligner therapy is an orthodontic treatment that uses clear plastic trays to gently shift your teeth over time. They do the same job as braces, but they have the advantage of being removable and almost entirely invisible when worn. Clear aligners have been around for over 30 years and are considered safe and predictable by the dental community.

All clear aligner systems begin by taking detailed records of your teeth. These are used to create an accurate 3D model of your smile today. We plan a treatment that gradually shifts your current smile to your ideal smile through a series of small movements over time. The clear aligner company then creates clear plastic trays—think thin mouthguards—that match your smile at every stage of treatment. Once you receive your aligners, you’ll wear your first set for at least 22 hours each day for the prescribed wear period. You’ll then wear the second set of aligners, and so on, until your results have been achieved.

Are CandidPro clear aligners the same as other clear aligner options?

CandidPro and many other options are safe and effective clear aligner treatments. They use clear plastic trays to gently shift your teeth over time. CandidPro differs from some of the others in a few important ways. First, CandidPro aligners are designed to better grasp your teeth, which may mean we can forgo or reduce the number of attachments we place on your teeth. CandidPro also uses FDA-cleared remote monitoring as a standard part of every case to help us see your progress remotely.

What can CandidPro treat?

Dr. Galant can use CandidPro clear aligners to treat a wide range of mild to complex cases. Nearly any case that can be treated with other clear aligner systems can be treated with CandidPro.

Some complex cases may require what we call “adjuncts” like elastic bands or bonded attachments—small bumps your dentist attaches to your teeth to facilitate movement.

Our CandidPro Orthodontists review every case that comes into our system and work directly with your dentist to determine if our system is right for your unique case.

How do I know if I’m a candidate?

CandidPro is a great option for anyone who wants to increase their confidence and improve their overall health. Around 75% of Americans have clinically misaligned teeth, putting them at risk for long-term oral health issues (cavities, gingivitis, tooth damage) and whole-body health issues, including cardiovascular diseases. CandidPro can correct this misalignment and also help you achieve a smile you’ll want to share far and wide.

Dr. Zoya Galant will ultimately determine if you’re a candidate for treatment, starting with an assessment of your bite. They may analyze your occlusion (how your teeth fit together) and take diagnostic records before recommending CandidPro. If you choose to proceed, Dr. Galant will share specifics about cost and timing.

What are attachments and do I need them?

Attachments are small bumps of dental composite that we place on your teeth to help your clear aligners shift your teeth in certain directions. They are removed once your treatment has ended. CandidPro generally requires fewer attachments than other clear aligner systems.

Is the plastic in CandidPro clear aligners safe?

CandidPro manufactures its aligners using a high-grade medical polymer called ZenduraFLX. It’s rated as one of the most effective clear aligner materials on the market and is perfectly safe when used as intended. ZenduraFLX is BPA-free and unlikely to cause allergic reactions in most patients.

When can I start?

After Dr. Galant submits your case, they’ll work with a US-based, licensed orthodontist to create a treatment plan just for you. Candid’s manufacturing team will then create your aligners. While you wait for your aligners, you can download ProMonitoring™ app from the App Store or Google Play Store.

How long will it take?

The time it takes for CandidPro to bring your smile into perfect alignment varies based on your unique biology and commitment to wearing your aligners as prescribed. Some patients with mild misalignment may only need a few months. Complex cases can take over a year or more. Dr. Galant will be able to give you an estimate of total treatment time once they’ve developed your treatment plan. And with CandidPro, 98% of cases finish as planned — with one or less refinements².

Do I need to see my doctor in-person?

You will definitely need to start with your doctor in-person so they can assess your smile and take the records necessary for treatment. After that, you’ll use ProMonitoring™ app to share progress with Dr. Galant using your smartphone. Depending on their preferences, Dr. Galant may ask that you also return to the office periodically to help them assess your progress.

How can I pay for CandidPro?

Burlingame Dental Studio offers flexible financing options to help you afford the cost of care. You can also use orthodontic insurance benefits and/or your HSA/FSA dollars. If you’re concerned about the cost, it may help to remember that forgoing orthodontic treatment today could lead to more expensive treatments later in life.

How do I wear aligners?

Dr. Galant will provide an orientation to help you get started. In most cases, you’ll be asked to wear each set of aligners for 22 hours a day. You may remove them for meals, snacks, and hot beverages. Just make sure to brush and floss before putting them back in.

When do I change to my next aligner step?

The ProMonitoring app will send you a notification when it’s time for your next aligner change. But first, you’ll need to share photos of your smile with Dr. Galant so she can review your progress.

When will I start seeing results?

Most patients start noticing a change in their smile after a few weeks. You can see a timelapse of your progress in the ProMonitoring app.

What is the ProMonitoring app?

The ProMonitoring app is a mobile app that helps you share your progress with us over the course of your treatment. The app will notify you when it’s time to check in and guide you through the process of taking photos of your teeth.

The process is easy. You simply attach the included ScanBox Pro to your smartphone and follow the on-screen directions to take a series of photos of your teeth. These photos help us assess whether your treatment is going to according to plan.

Will I need to wear a retainer?

Dr. Galant will likely prescribe a retention device for you to wear after you complete your CandidPro treatment, which may include our own PermaForm retainers. If you don’t wear a retainer, you could risk your teeth moving back to where they started! So make sure you follow Dr. Galant’s instructions.
